Company founder Andrew Prince has worked in the property care industry for over 6 years. He holds the CSRT certification for assessing dampness and timber defects in buildings. Andrew first developed his interest in property care when studying Planning and Property Development at the Nottingham Trent University and later working as a surveyor for a PCA registered damp control and timber preservation contractor.
Andrew considers it essential to have a good understanding of how building live and breathe to be able to diagnose dampness correctly:
“To correctly diagnose dampness in buildings it is critical to understand the often complex relationships between ventilation, humidity and what might be considered structural dampness. For example, inappropriate ventilation often leads to mould growth, condensation and dampness in plaster which is easily confused with rising damp. Misdiagnosis of dampness can lead to thousands of pounds of unnecessary expenditure for a homeowner”.
